August 2019, we took the whole family to the Outer Banks for an extended vacation and retirement party. Hemingway House comfortably held 26 people and the baby even had her own room! Our private pool with tiki bar was only a short walk along the way down to the beach.
We stayed on the 4×4 beach, which meant there was only one way to get to the house from the main road—drive your 4wd vehicle on the sand along the coast. This turned out to be an amazing way to get your stuff to the beach. Every day we could just leave our stuff in the truck and drive it back and forth. The trucks also gave us shade and radio (Kenny Chesney‘s No Shoes Radio).
We had an amazing time with siblings and cousins playing trivia, cooking up a storm, making rubber band loom bracelets, and drinking every flavor of alcoholic and non-alcoholic seltzer ever invented!
